Setting up your clinic

occo Business is occo for a therapy clinic: your staff, your clients and their progress in one place, with practice that carries on at home. Setting it up takes a few minutes and a card.

What occo Business is

It is the plan for small therapy clinics — occupational and physical therapy, speech, ABA — and it works like this:

  • Your staff sign in with their own accounts, on the clinic’s laptops and tablets. There is no charge per member of staff.
  • Your clients are a first name or a nickname each. Open the client’s page from your clinic’s home and play as them straight away: what they play is saved to them — for a child under 13, once a parent has signed occo’s consent. See clients.
  • Their program — a few activities a day, over a few days, that you set up — leads their home, in the clinic and, with occo Family, at home. See programs.
  • Their family joins from an invite you email or a QR code you show, with their own occo account: they follow the client’s progress, and with occo Family they play at home on the same profile. See practice at home.
  • Their progress — their program, skills and sessions — shows clinic and home together, on each client’s page.

What it does not have is the equipment of a big organization: screens fixed to a wall that run on their own, sign-in through your organization’s accounts, or a console for managing many screens. Those are Ouva Enterprise, for schools and hospitals, on ouva.co.

Creating your clinic

Use an account of its own for the clinic — your work email — rather than one your family plays on at home. A child’s profile in a household, and a client’s profile, cannot start a clinic.

  1. Go to the clinic start page. If you are not signed in, occo asks you to make an account first; confirm your email address and you come back to it.
  2. Type your clinic’s name under Clinic name.
  3. Under Billing, choose Monthly or Yearly. The price for each shows under them.
  4. Press the button that starts the free trial. occo hands you to Stripe’s secure checkout for the card and the clinic’s billing address. A promotion code, if you have one, goes there too.
  5. Back in occo, it says Confirming your plan… for a moment, then opens your clinic’s home.

Leave Checkout before the end and nothing is charged. Your clinic is kept: open the start page again and it picks up where you left off, with the same name.

The free trial

The trial asks for a card up front, and nothing is charged until it ends. Cancel before then and you are not charged at all. If you do nothing, it rolls on into the plan you chose.

There is one trial per clinic, and one per person who starts a clinic. If yours has had one, the start page’s button says Continue to payment instead, and billing starts the day you subscribe. While the trial runs, the Plan tab says the day it ends. More in plan and billing.

Trying it yourself first

Before you play with a client, try occo yourself as Demo Client. Every clinic has one, for you and your staff, and it doesn’t count toward your plan.

  1. On Your clients, pick Demo Client, the tile before Add client.
  2. Press Play as Demo Client. The first time, occo starts with the welcome your clients see, then the activities.
  3. Go back to your own account (the account menu, then Back to and your name) and open Demo Client’s page to see the progress it saved.

Your staff all play as the same Demo Client. To start it over, press Delete Demo Client on its page; its tile makes a new one the next time.

Finding your way around

Your clinic’s home is Your clients: a tile for each client, then Demo Client, and Add client as the last one. Pick a tile to open that client’s page. Under the title, a line says how many clients you have against your plan’s limit.

Everything else is in the account menu, the round button in the top-right corner:

  • Clients takes you back to Your clients from anywhere else.
  • Staff, Plan and Programs open your clinic’s page at that tab: who works with your clients, what you pay, and your library of programs. See your clinic’s staff.
  • The same page has a Clients tab: every client in one list you can search, each one’s claim code, and the clients whose access you ended, to give it back.
  • Settings, Help and Log out are your own account’s.

Then, once you have tried it, add your first client.
